The event, held in one of the community-managed forest areas, was part of a broader effort to strengthen sustainable forest management through agroforestry practices. Each tree planted was given a unique name, chosen by local residents, students, and members of Gapoktan, reflecting local culture, values, and environmental aspirations.

“The naming of each tree serves not only as a symbol of our commitment to sustainability but also fosters a personal connection between the community and the forest,” said a representative from KPH Kota Agung Utara. “We believe this initiative can inspire long-term care and protection of these trees.”

Gapoktan Rimba Jaya, a farmer group actively engaged in agroforestry and forest conservation efforts, has been working closely with KPH in reforestation and land rehabilitation programs. Through this partnership, local farmers are able to increase their livelihoods while maintain ecological balance.

Participant local leaders, and environmental activists, were invited to name trees and place markers beside them. The names range from traditional Lampung terms to inspiring words like “Hope,” “Harmony,” and “Life,” high lighting the emotional and cultural connection people have with nature.
