Farmer Group Meeting – Discussion on Pepper ToF and Coffee Exploration

During a field visit and group dialogue with the Kematang Guntung Farmer Group (Simang Rusa), members engaged in an active discussion on the upcoming Training of Farmers (ToF) for pepper cultivation, which is planned to be implemented in their area. This meeting served as an important opportunity to align understanding around more adaptive, efficient, and long-term pepper farming practices.

In addition to the main topic on pepper, the conversation naturally expanded into a small discussion about coffee cultivation as a potential complementary crop for the region. Several members expressed interest in integrating coffee, especially through intercropping within agroforestry systems, as a strategy to diversify and enhance long-term economic value.

The discussion reflected the group’s enthusiasm and openness to innovation, and their growing readiness to explore more diverse and regenerative farming models for the future.
