A coordination meeting was held with the Agricultural Field Officer (PPL) of Bantan Village, Tanjung Rusa Agricultural Extension Center (BPP), the Village Secretary, and the Head of the Farmers Group to discuss the future of the village demonstration plot (demplot).
🔹 Key Discussion Points:
- Relocation of Demplot Site
It was agreed that the demplot will be relocated to a village-owned plot, with an estimated size of 1 hectare, as the initially proposed land is unsuitable for planting. The new location is expected to better serve as a training and trial site for agricultural practices. - Engagement of Additional Farmer Groups
The PPL recommended inviting members from other farmer groups, including the Karya Tani Group, since the land is part of the village’s asset. Any use of the land should be officially supported and recognized under the structure of existing farmer groups to ensure proper coordination. - Preliminary Discussion on Community Forestry (HKM)
As a medium-term opportunity, participants discussed the potential use of land within the protected forest area (Hutan Lindung) under the HKM scheme for a larger-scale agroforestry trial site. This would require further coordination with the Forestry Department to address the legal use and allocation of the land.
This meeting marks an important first step toward building cross-sector collaboration at the village level for the development of sustainable and integrated farming systems—both on village-owned land and potentially within HKM areas.
