The R1 composting activity by Group 2 has reached a major milestone, as the compost is now ready for harvest after nearly four months of decomposition. The compost shows clear signs of maturity—odorless, dark in color, and crumbly with a soil-like texture, making it suitable for use and distribution.
Today’s activity focused on packing the compost into sacks, marking the first step toward distributing it to group members. 10 out of 18 farmers were present, as several members had prior commitments and had submitted absence requests. The composting activities will resume next week according to the agreed schedule.
As of today, 94 compost sacks have been packed. This number is expected to increase as the harvest continues in the next sessions. The collective spirit and commitment of Group 2 farmers remain a driving force behind the success of this community-based organic composting initiative.
